We have recieved many requests for a Blog style module for WHMCS.

We are starting this topic to get an idea of your thoughts and suggestions on what the module should include.

To start it off we are thinking:

  1. Ability to add posts
  2. Archive pages for date based, author based
  3. Category Pages
  4. Tag Pages

That is the basis of a basic blog module, which will follow the WHMCS Pages module administration area in look and feel.

However we are looking to you, our customers to let us know what else you would like to see from such a module.

The floor is yours.

I read your promo email about the forum and immediately thought to myself that a blog module should be your next undertaking. I would love to have a good WHMCS blog module, and unfortunately there are none (good that is) presently.

Just be sure that blog posts feature a by line so one can set up google attribution properly, and have a comment/trackback system, rss and such and it should be fine. Category/Tag support as you've already mentioned I guess is good too. I would love to purchase such a module. In fact I'm working on building a new brand and have invested into custom theme development for a WordPress + WHMCS setup, but all I really need is a blog, so WordPress is way overkill.

I may just scrap the idea if you're definitely putting a blog module together. Any rough ETA?

I'll be purchasing the forum module shortly as it's also an excellent idea.

Hello troy,

Yes its definatley on the card, however a due date is a litle difficult at this early stage, i would say maybe for the summer, but dont quote me on that as requests/needs can vary greatly day to day.

Never thought about comments and trackbacks.

Would a builtin comment system be preferencial to everybody or something like disqus comments?

Yes this module has been out for a while now, we have decided to call it the CMS Plus module as we designed it with not just blogs, but any content types in mind.
