i meant to say 'template driven' so yes either a template in the admin area or within the module itself
so say 14(selectable) days after the purchase of a domain name, that has no services applied, an email is sent to them along the lines of:
Thank you for your recent purchase of xyz.com here are our latest webhosting offers..blah blah blah
maybe have 2 templates with 2 selectable periods so 60 days if there is still no hosting - offer an even better special offer??

i get what you mean, the best way would be to have email templates and use those. this would mean.
1. they can contain all normal email vars, plus any custom vars the module adds
2. an unlimited amount of day=email settings could be added as you can create as many email templates as you want.
I think from a module point of view it would be best to make it for domains AND any services to allow flexibility as other people may want to upsell other services as well (ie upsell a backup service on a hosting account, etc).
Great idea, i will get onto this as soon as we get a chance.
