Creating a redirect to /sitemap.xml

By default the Simple Sitemap Module creates your sitemap in the address format below:

http://domain.com/index.php?m=simple_sitemap

For appearances sake most people preffer to have a sitemap url that looks like the below format:

http://domain.com/sitemap.xml

This can be achieved with a simple .htaccess redirect

Open your .htaccess file and add the following code:

<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^sitemap.xml index.php?m=simple_sitemap
</ifmodule>

This rewrite simply redirects /sitemap.xml to the correct location without changing the users address bar.
